How To Make Ice Tea Cold Brew Techniques

And now we know how to make iced tea in hot water but how do you make tea using cold water? It’s called a cold brew. You have to start with the right type of water which is spring water or filtered water and if you are making a pitcher, this is a twenty four ounce. If you are making a twenty four ounce container of iced tea, or if you have one of those two quart iced tea, you just have to increase the amount of tea leaves you use. But to start off you don’t use cold, hot water, you use cold water. So you open your container or your pitcher, you put in the amount of water, tea you want to make. This is twenty four ounce so I will put in twenty four ounces of cold water or room temperature.
Then you put in your tea leaves. I’m making twenty four ounces which is double the size of a sixteen ounce cup so I’m going to use two teaspoons, two tablespoons, I’m sorry two tablespoons of rooibos or white tea or green tea. And you put it in there and you close your two quart of iced tea container or your water bottle. You put it in the refrigerator, literally overnight. Your tea will be brewing when you get home, when you wake up in the morning and you are ready to go. You simply take out the tea leaves. Usually it’s in a little tea bag or this little tea ball is inside your quart of ice tea. You take that out and your tea is ready to go. You don’t have to wait, don’t have to be afraid of bitter tea. And that’s all.
